How to Get the Best US Open Schedule of Play

Whether you’re a tennis fanatic who knows your break points from your backhands or you’re just looking for some iconic New York City energy, the US Open is the place to be. Get your tickets and be ready to cheer!

Tip #1: Know when your matches are scheduled to start (day vs night sessions) and which court you’re hoping to be in for. This will help you to plan accordingly and avoid wasting time waiting in lines, getting stuck on a subway, or worse. You can find these details on the US Open’s Daily Schedule of Play page or in the official app (start checking early afternoon – it’s usually released by around 5pm).

Tip #2: It’s best to buy your tickets for specific sessions, rather than a general day pass or session ticket. It’s not always possible to see all the matches you want, especially in the opening rounds, so purchasing sessions ensures that you’ll have the opportunity to catch your favorites.

New for 2025: The US Open is expanding to 15 days and shifting to a Sunday finish, as opposed to the traditional Monday. It’s also moving to a three-day first week of main draw action.

You’ll still be able to watch qualifying, though, which will run from Monday August 18 through Thursday August 23 during a FREE week known as Fan Week (or Qualifying Week as the USTA marketing whizzes like to call it). This is an incredible opportunity for you to see some of the sport’s most exciting rising players in action.
