After a wild NFL draft last year, which saw six quarterbacks taken in the first 12 picks, this year’s draft is shaping up to be even more interesting. Tennessee holds the top spot, followed by Cleveland and New York as teams look to reshape their rosters after a disappointing season.
The picks have started to trickle in and there are several intriguing names on the board, including the Raiders’ choice of Ashton Jeanty in Round 1. The Heisman Trophy finalist is compact and sudden when running the ball and has impressed his teammates during camp.
Other sleepers worth keeping an eye on include Denver Broncos WR Marvin Mims Jr, who should lock up the No. 2 WR job behind Nico Collins and could break out this season. Houston Texans WR Tetairoa McMillan is also a sleeper who could make an immediate impact with his sharp route running and ability to adjust to the ball.
Other names to watch include New York Giants OT Kevin King, who is poised to start at right tackle, and Baltimore Ravens LB Nic Scourton, who is still recovering from a collapsed lung but shows great promise when he is healthy enough to play. Scourton has been a force in pass rush, creating pressure on opposing quarterbacks and forcing them into bad throws.
